01 Import one batch

However you sort cards, bring them in once.

Select a complete set, import an accepted buylist, or upload a CSV from a card sorter or TCG scanning app. Card Companion keeps every card together in one reviewable batch.

Check the cards and quantities, then publish the approved inventory to Shopify when it is ready.

One reviewed batch: imported cards stay together while your team confirms matches and quantities.

02 Match and create

Add stock to existing products. Create only what is missing.

Card Companion checks each card for an existing linked Shopify product. When it finds one, the stock goes to the correct variant instead of creating another listing for the same card.

When a product is missing, Card Companion prepares it from the card record, with the correct set, printing and finish ready for Shopify.

Products, not rows: existing Shopify variants update while missing products are prepared from the card record.

03 Update the exact variant

The right quantity on the right variant.

Each combination of condition, language and finish has its own quantity on Shopify. A Near Mint English foil and a Near Mint English non-foil stay separate, even though they share the same card product.

Import more copies later and Card Companion applies the new quantities to those same linked variants, keeping your existing Shopify catalogue intact.

Questions about adding card inventory to Shopify.

How can I bulk-list trading cards on Shopify?
Import an accepted buylist, select a complete set, or upload a CSV from a card sorter or TCG scanning app. Card Companion keeps the cards together in one reviewable batch before the products and quantities are published to Shopify.
Can I import inventory from a card scanning app?
Yes, when the app exports a CSV that keeps the card, set and printing details intact. See our TCGplayer app scan-to-CSV guide for a worked example.
Will an import create duplicate Shopify products?
Card Companion checks each card for an existing linked Shopify product. When it finds one, the quantity goes to the matching variant instead of creating another listing for the same card.
Does importing stock change our existing Shopify products?
No. Card Companion adds quantities to the linked products you already have and only prepares a product when one is missing. Your theme, domain and checkout remain unchanged.
More Shopify inventory questions
Can Card Companion create missing Shopify products?
Yes. Missing products are prepared from the card record with the correct set, printing and finish. You can review them in the same batch before publishing them to Shopify.
How are card quantities organised in Shopify?
Each combination of condition, language and finish has its own Shopify variant and quantity. A Near Mint English foil and a Near Mint English non-foil remain separate on the same card product.
